ALL-STAR TEAMS

*** Our Gold and Silver 10u teams have both been designated as "B" teams by USA Softball. ***

New this year, our Silver 10u team will play in the Gold division for the first two invitational tournaments and will be reevaluated before the third tournament for placement throughout the remainder of the season. Families of players who are drafted to the second 10u All-Star team should check the dates below and plan to be flexible.

PLEASE NOTE: the financial commitment for the 10u Silver team will increase by $50 if the team does stay a "B" designation throughout the entire season.

Our third team, or bronze team, will play a "C" schedule the entire season.

ALL-STAR PLAYER INTEREST CONTRACTS

ALL-STAR INTEREST CONTRACT

Parents of players interested in being selected for All-Stars should complete the Player Interest Contract Form.

Note: Player Birth Certificates must be uploaded at the time of application.

All-Star team selections will occur at All-Star Selection Meetings between May 1, 2025 and May 2, 2025. Not all players who express interest will be selected.

Please read all information available to you on this page and the linked Google Form before deciding if the All-Star commitment is right for your family.  The All-Star season is honor to be a part of, but it requires significant family support for your player.

APPLICATIONS WERE DUE NO LATER THAN APRIL 30TH.

TUSTIN TAKEOFF MANDATORY VOLUNTEER REQUIREMENT

  • There will be a $300 fee incurred for not completing your volunteer hours, payable to TGS before the second weekend tournament or that athlete will be ineligible.
  • YOUR TIME IS MEANINGFUL AND VALUABLE TO US. THIS MACHINE DOES NOT WORK WITHOUT YOU AND YOUR HELP. We suggest all families plan to be at the field two full days and provide a meaningful contribution to the tournament.

ALL-STAR FAQS

How are players nominated for All-Star consideration?

Recreation Managers nominate any number of players from their team that they deem qualified to be considered for All-Star selection.

How are players selected to be All-Stars?

On or after  May 1st, two representatives from each team (typically the Manager and Head Coach) will meet. Every representative will receive a ballot of the nominated players (who have submitted All-Star Commitment Contracts) and cast their votes. After the selection of the first six (6) players of an All‐Star team, the All-Star Manager’s daughter is selected as the seventh player to the roster, unless she was previously selected. The All-Star Manager shall then make all remaining selections to complete the roster and submit to the TGS Executive Board for review and approval. The TGS Executive Board has final approval on the formation of an All-Star Team to ensure appropriate representation of TGS. This process continues for each all star team in each age division.

How are All-Star Managers Selected?

Coaches seeking to manage an All-Star campaign must submit an application. A list of All-Star Manager applicants will be distributed to all regular season Managers and Head Coaches. Regular Season Managers and Head Coaches (maximum 2 ballots per team) will submit a ballot ranking the All-Star Manager applicants. The TGS Executive Board will have final determination to assign the role of All-Star Manager to the applicant deemed most appropriate to represent TGS.

We have a family vacation planned for one of the tournament dates listed. Can my athlete still participate in All-Stars?

Maybe. All absences must be disclosed on the All-Star application/contract. The All-Star manager will take that absence into account when making selections for the team.

Will my athlete play in every All-Star game?

Every tournament has different rules. Some tournaments allow for round robin batting, while others mandate a designated player/flex 9 batting order. In other words, there will absolutely be games where your athlete will not play. Play time may be contingent on performance. Parents need to be aware of this before deciding if an All-Star commitment is right for your family.

What is the financial commitment for All-Stars?

Every player will be required to pay an All-Star registration fee. This fee includes the uniform kit, field fees for practice time, tournament entry fees, USA Softball registration, and other small miscellaneous fees. There will also be travel costs, hotel costs, spirit wear opportunities, and other various team requirements. To be candidly honest, the All-Star season is expensive and could top $1000. TGS will offer a fundraising opportunity to offset some of these costs.

What if my athlete's team advances to the State Championships? What if they advance to the National Championships?

All players on teams that advance to the next level of competition are required to compete. Failing to advance will earn sanctions to 2025 teams.  Please take note of potential dates listed above and be sure your athlete is available for States, Regionals, and Nationals. This is a big commitment. Please honor it.
